NANA NET, LLC was created as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to carry out broadband operations across the NANA region utilizing the infrastructure being built under two major grants.
The first broadband grant was awarded to NANA for the initial regional network. A second grant, through USDA ReConnect Round 5, was awarded to Atautchikun to expand service to Hughes and Huslia.
These investments address a long-standing need. Communities in the NANA region are remote, located above the Arctic Circle, and not connected by roads. Essential goods must be flown or barged in, and reliable high-speed internet has not been available. Existing service is slow, costly, and often unusable for distance learning, telehealth, online business, or remote work.
With the support of these grants, NANA NET will bring dependable, affordable broadband to the region. This work will support education, health, economic growth, and long-term community sustainability and resilience.
